ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Classical education is not enough to prepare students to create and acquire jobs in the 21st century. No matter how smart and flexible modern students are, if things remain the same, soon we would have found ourselves fighting the market crisis with too many new positions opened and too few people qualified to take them. That’s why many modern colleges, universities, and schools slowly start offering education by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

Mountain University Institute of Sustainable Studies (MUISS) is aimed at offering access to quality and equity education with the goal of breaching gaps between school and the job market. The institution challenges its students to a progressivist philosophy of education, whereby learners actively participate in their own learning via learner-centred project-based, inquiry-based, laboratory-based and cooperative learning methods. The institution’s ultimate goal is to graduate students who can use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to blend theory and practice, which are crucial necessities for job acquisition and creation. Therefore, career development and advancement in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics lie at the heart of MUISS philosophy, with sustainability being the driving force to ensure the survival of all global ecosystems.

Graduates of MUISS are expected to have developed the research skills and knowledge necessary for success in their professional lives. At the heart of this education is the requirement of both an integrative approach (which exposes all our students to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and a silo approach which specializes students in other primary fields of speciality, like business, education, health and engineering. We expect our graduates to perform at the highest level and set demanding standards in work and research.
